Bilbao is larger than we though. It felt like a comfortable city.

Maman (Mamá, Mother) is the name of the Spider sculpture. From Wikipedia: The Spider is an ode to my mother. She was my best friend. Like a spider, my mother was a weaver. My family was in the business of tapestry restoration, and my mother was in charge of the workshop. Like spiders, my mother was very clever. Spiders are friendly presences that eat mosquitoes. We know that mosquitoes spread diseases and are therefore unwanted. So, spiders are helpful and protective, just like my mother. — Louise Bourgeois

From Bilbao we went back towards Gijón. We found a hotel that we liked and wanted to have some quiet time. These are some pictures I took from the highway.20160519-3B8A8488-Bilbao

I wasn’t expecting to see sheep on top of a highway bridge. I barely had time to snap this pic.

We went to a Sidrería in Gijón. It was a touristy place but at least we got to see how they pour the sidra and tasted it.
